Happy Monday Son,
Today is a great day to stay focused on the positive, isn’t it? Well, in reality, I suppose every day is a great day to stay focused on what’s positive.
Isn’t it amazing how easily negative thoughts can enter your mind? If you watch the news, for instance, it might appear that nothing good is happening in the world. In fact, a person could get easily overwhelmed by the negativity in the news and simply feel there is nothing they can do about it.
For the people who don’t think that there is anything they can do about the seemingly overwhelming negativity in the world, I say… Nonsense!
Now you aren’t going to go out and solve all the world’s problems in one day, that’s just not realistic. Trying to do that, of course, what have you feeling overwhelmed and powerless. What you can do is simply to start with you. Determine today to focus on being the light for others in a world where there seems like there’s so much darkness.
We all know someone who needs a helping hand of some type, even if it’s just a simple phone call accompanied by a kind word or two. Your Grandmother, for instance, is someone who would love to have a short five-minute conversation with you. That simple five-minute conversation would make her day… Guaranteed!
From my personal experience, I have found that by focusing on those thoughts that evoke happiness and joy, you can replace any number of negative thoughts that may be trying to dominate your mind. Also, by reaching out and lending a helping hand to someone, you take a vacation from being focused on your own challenges to help someone else with theirs.
