My Letters To My Son

Letters

Buongiorno Son

August 5, 2024 By Dad

Buongiorno Son,

Here we are at the start of another great day and another great week!

We are having elections here this week. We get tons of flyers in the mail and TV ads, each touting the good, bad, and ugly of the candidates.

I’ve always found it interesting that even though people have the right to vote, some simply do not vote. Oddly enough, many of those same people will complain about the way the government is being run. That seems strange since they had an opportunity to participate in the decision-making process. In my humble opinion, it has never made much sense to lend an ear to people who complain but don’t participate.

When investigating the candidates, I did notice a surprising number of them touting how they would clean up the election process. This seems to be a popular theme since the rumors started flying about the 2020 presidential election being stolen. It is amazing how much traction a lie without proof can get. Even in the face of the overwhelming evidence that the election wasn’t stolen, some candidates and their constituents continued to insist that the 2020 presidential election was stolen. Apparently they have never heard of the saying that two wrongs don’t make a right.

It’s up to us as individuals to do our own research in order to make the most informed decisions. We should always seek the facts rather than simple opinions.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
