My Letters To My Son

Dad

Happy Magnificent Monday Son

August 22, 2022 By Dad

Happy Magnificent Monday Son,

I’m sure you are familiar with the phrase, “”The truth will set you free” (Latin: Vēritās līberābit vōs”). That is derived from John 8:32 in the Bible.

Whatever you do in this life, make sure you tell the truth at all times regardless of the consequences. Why? Well, ask yourself a very simple question. Do I like being lied to?
The interesting thing is that even the biggest of liars does not like to be lied to! Imagine that!

Some people will try to convince you that everybody lies. It wouldn’t be much of a stretch of the imagination to think that that people who make that statement are liars themselves. The reality is that there are people who are completely truthful.

You want to be a person that can be trusted. Liars, of course, cannot be trusted. Liars are basically thieves who steal the truth from others.

Here are a few observations I’ve made over the years:

Liars lie to themselves first by telling themselves that being dishonest is OK.
Some liars will refuse to ever be truthful about certain lies they have told.
Liars typically think they are smarter than everyone else.
People who lie for you will also lie to you.
People who lie to others will also lie to you.
People who lie about others will also lie about you.
Liars can be quite delusional.
Liars don’t like to be called liars or referred to as dishonest.
Some liars will demonize anyone who dares to question their integrity.
Liars try to convince us that telling a lie is better than telling the truth because it spares hurt feelings.
Even though liars believe they are smart enough to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes, most have very low self-esteem.
Liars are a liability rather than an asset.
Liars are cowards.

Remember, that the truth will actually set you free because none of us want to be held prisoner by our own lies or the lies of others.

At some point in time everybody has lied. Becoming a truthful person of integrity can be a process….or a person could start telling the truth today and instantly become an honest person. Imagine a world where everyone loved and respected one another enough to always tell the truth.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
