My Letters To My Son

Dad

Happy Monday Son

September 13, 2021 By Dad

Happy Monday Son,

How are you today? I hope that you had a great weekend. Even though my weekend was wonderful, I couldn’t wait to get into the office this morning and start the week off right.

It was a beautiful weekend here. Yesterday, my sweetheart and I thoroughly enjoyed church. Interestingly enough, the vast majority, I’d say over 90 percent of the people at church didn’t have on masks! That may not be a shocker to many people as we all have to wade through oceans of information to know the right way to be in public during a pandemic.

Of course, people will give you all sorts of reasons for not wearing a mask, from, “it’s unconstitutional” to “my body, my choice”. The, “my body, my choice” argument seems thin at best. Why? Because taking precautions during a pandemic does not only affect you, it affects everyone in close proximity to you.

With that said, here’s what I know because I have first-hand experience and not info from second, third, or fourth — hand sources.

Currently, the vaccine alone will not guarantee that you won’t get Covid-10. I have seen firsthand that vaccinated people cannot only contract Covid-19, but can transmit it to others as well. Covid-19 is dangerous, don’t let anyone tell you differently.

Some people either don’t believe that Covid-19 is real or don’t believe they will get Covid-19. I would say to those people that the reason they have not contracted Covid-19 is that they have not been in direct contact with someone who is contagious. I also, believe that the severity of the symptoms one gets when one contracts Covid-19 is directly proportional to the length of their exposure to someone with Covid-19. IT seems logical that the more of the virus you have in you, the more severe your symptoms will be.

Be safe out there, Son. There are a lot of people whose inaccurate beliefs endanger themselves and those around them.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
