Buenos Días Son,
As I’m writing to you, I am having breakfast later than usual. This coincides with getting a later start on today’s workout, after which I’ll typically have a bite to eat.
This past weekend was pretty cool. I went on a really hard bike ride with one of my cousins. Why do I say the bike ride was “really hard.” One reason is that it was very hilly. We all know that going against gravity can be challenging. Another reason is that I didn’t hydrate or eat enough before the ride.
Another reason the ride was difficult is that I am not in the best of shape. So, basically, the ride was hard because I made it hard. By not properly preparing for the ride, I suffered, and I do mean suffered, unnecessarily.
If we stop and think about it, how much of what we want to accomplish in life seems so difficult? Well, there’s no doubt that we don’t conquer some challenges simply because we are unprepared or underprepared.
Being unprepared can certainly make you nervous, and rightfully so. Be prepared gives you confidence and confidence builds more confidence. Your preparation is the solid foundation upon which you will build your successes.
What do you think would happen if for some reason I was allowed to compete in Stage 1 of the Tour de Fance? The answer is simple. I would be last! Why? That’s easy. Because I was not prepared to compete at that elite level. In reality, in my current level of fitness I would come close to qualifying for the Tour.
Well, that’s all for now!
Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Dad
