My Letters To My Son

Letters

Hi Son

April 18, 2022 By Dad

Hi Son,

How’s it going today? I’m sure that you are going to make sure that your day goes well.

Things are great here and, I’m happy to say, are great most of the time. I say most of the time, because sometimes, in everyone’s life there are glitches, inconveniences, unreasonable people, etc., that we all encounter from time to time.

Unreasonable people can be tedious to deal with. Fortunately, for the most part, our encounters with unreasonable people are temporary. Unreasonable people that you have to live with or work with can definitely be much more of a challenge.

So, what is an “unreasonable person”? Merriam-Webster defines unreasonable as, “not governed by or acting according to reason”. That was a pretty obvious definition, right?

What is an example of an unreasonable person? Here’s one: Let’s say that you have a friend that needed your help and you generously put forth the time and effort to help them. In fact, every time they needed you, you would help them. Now, let’s say that you asked that same friend to do something very simple for you and they refused. You ask them again, but they don’t help you. That friend, if you can call them that, is unreasonable. After all, what sense does it make to not honor a simple request of someone who has always been more than willing to help you?

At some point in our lives, we have all been unreasonable in some way or the other, right? What do you think makes someone unreasonable?

Let’s continue this discussion at a later date so that we can delve a little deeper into it.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
