My Letters To My Son

Happy Monday Son

May 2, 2022 By Dad

Happy Monday Son,

How’s it going there today? Well, I’m certain that you are looking forward to a great week ahead!

Today, we are picking up on our discussion of unreasonable people.

We were previously discussing that liars are unreasonable people who feel it necessary to defend their lies, even though all evidence points towards what they are saying not being true.

So you may ask, why would someone work hard to defend and protect something that obviously is not true. Well, at some point that lie may become a part of that person’s identity. Let’s say, for instance, that a woman is having a dinner party, and everyone is raving about what a wonderful meal it is and what a great cook the woman is. The woman then goes on to claim how long it took her to prepare the meal and totally takes credit for preparing the meal.

In the above scenario, there doesn’t seem that the woman is doing anything wrong. Unfortunately, the meal was prepared by a local restaurant and not by the woman! Now the woman’s friends and associates all believe that she is an incredible cook, when in fact she is not. The lie she told becomes part of her identity and she may even be deluded enough to believe that she is a great cook.

Some weeks or months later, some of the friends and acquaintances that were at the dinner party happen to dine at the very restaurant the woman purchased the meal from.
That evening, they happened to order some of the same food that the woman who hosted the dinner party claimed that she had prepared. The people eating at the restaurant start to slowly mention how the food tasted like the food they had at the dinner party. Then a discussion between them sowed the seeds of doubt as to whether the woman actually prepared the meal or simply purchased the food from the same restaurant her friends and acquaintances were currently dining in.

Ok, let’s continue this discussion very soon.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
