My Letters To My Son

Letters

Hi Son

March 30, 2026 By Dad

Hi Son,

How’s it going there today? As always, dad is going to sound like a broken record and say, I hope that all is going well and that you’re looking forward to the week ahead.

It’s just your standard week here. There’s a lot to do and I look forward to doing all of it. Of course, I could always dread all the things I have to do, but in reality will that make the task any simpler? In my limited experience on this planet, the answer is no.

So, what’s new with you? Whatever is new in your life, I hope that it is beneficial to you as well as exciting.

Whatever you’re doing in life, I hope that you are taking care of your health. Like, there are tons of great resources that you can reference to help you to maintain your health as well as improve your health.

You hear me mention health a lot, right? Well, let’s just save it your dad is not exactly a spring chicken anymore. Fortunately, I have been blessed with vibrant health for most of my life. Perhaps for some people this comes absolutely naturally, but for most of us, maintaining excellent health is a matter of discipline.

Now, truthfully, I can’t stand on a soapbox and tell you that I’ve always eaten the right foods and exercise perfectly every day of my life. Lately, I have not been nearly as disciplined as necessary with my eating. This used to be simpler for me when I lived alone because I simply did not buy the things and stock the things that I was not supposed to eat. That was the way I was able to eat healthy common nutritious foods most of the time. Now, there are snacks in my cupboard that I’d rather not have there.

In reality, I can’t rely on my old way of eating healthy by not having unhealthy food in the house. Now is the time for me to exercise more discipline and ignore the temptation of satisfying my hunger by grabbing something that, in the long run, isn’t going to be good for me.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
