My Letters To My Son

Letters

Howdy Son

July 10, 2017 By Dad Leave a Comment

Howdy Son,

How are you today? As usual, I hope that you are doing well and that you are looking forward to another amazing week.

Is it just me, or does it seem that this year is really going by fast? You’ve probably heard the saying, “They older you get, the faster time goes by”. Well, it sure seems to be true for me this year.

Have you ever been stuck in a rut? I know I have. It’s so easy to let our focus shift from thoughts that empower us to thoughts that enslave us. More often than not, when I find myself feeling as if I am discouraged and in a rut, I let negative thoughts overrun my positive thoughts. Has this ever happened to you?

When I focus on what I have rather than what I don’t have, my thoughts change from negative to positive. I then find myself being thankful for what I have rather than being resentful or bitter for what I don’t have. Many people call this adopting an “attitude of gratitude”. Every time that I focus on having an “attitude of gratitude”, my day is so much brighter than it might have otherwise been.

Well, that’s all for now!

Have an amazing day and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers!

Love,

Dad
